You spy on me as I sleep
Through a window’s lidless eye.
Between the ever-winding sheets
I see you peer from a velvet sky.
My mood’s reflection trembles
In the ever-changing tide
Of your pale face resembled;
Mending the wounds inside
With a skein of silver thread
Only a lover’s breast can rend.
Your pale kiss, lip’s caress—
And I shutter from my loneliness.
